Canon Singapore Showcases New Force Torque Sensor at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025!

Canon Singapore and Mitsubishi Electric Asia have partnered up to integrate Canon’s cutting-edge FH‑300‑20 Force Torque Sensor with Mitsubishi Electric’s MELFA FR series FR PLUS industrial robots. Making its debut at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025, this solution equips robot arms with human-like force sensitivity, enabling it to be extremely delicate during tasks like component placement and material handling. Featuring a compact 6‑axis design, low‑noise encoder, and robust build, the FH‑300‑20 ensures smoother, more reliable automation with minimal downtime.

With the addition of Canon’s sensor, Mitsubishi Electric’s FR PLUS robots can then provide high-speed positioning and precise trajectory control. “This collaboration represents a significant step forward in advancing robotics automation across the region,” said Kobe Kazuhiro, Senior Director, Industrial Products, Canon Singapore. “Because of labour shortages and for efficient workflow, automation of various tasks has become necessary, making force sensors more attractive. These sensors can also be used in various devices that require fine adjustments, which could lead to a potential growth in demand.”
