TIA-Ready Framework

Build Trusted Industrial AI.

Deploy AI on your factory floor with confidence. TIA-Ready — short for Trusted Industrial AI, Ready — is an industry-led framework and recognition pathway developed by AutomationSG, helping manufacturers, integrators and technology providers manage, govern and evidence one AI use case at a time — and show customers they can trust it.

Managed → Governed → Ready
USE-CASE SCOPED • EVIDENCE BASED • INDEPENDENTLY ASSESSED • ISO/IEC 42001 BENCHMARKED
📅 Public launch: 29 July 2026 at Automation SolutionGO! — The Framework and participation pathway will be introduced at the event.

RECOGNITION & THE TIA-READY LOGO

A recognition that can be verified

When the required criteria are met, the use case has been independently assessed, and AutomationSG approves the recognition decision, an organisation may achieve TIA-Ready Recognition for the stated use case — represented by an approved TIA-Ready Recognition Logo.

Recognition applies only to the stated use case and scope — not an enterprise-wide, product-safety, or legal-compliance certification.

WHY THIS EXISTS

AI adoption is accelerating. Governance is struggling to keep up.

  1. Manufacturing is entering the AI era.

AI is transforming operations – from machine vision and predictive maintenance to robotics, engineering and everyday productivity.

  2. Companies are adopting AI faster than governance.

Adoption is accelerating across the factory floor and enterprise, but governance and controls are not keeping pace.

  3. Customers are beginning to ask difficult questions.

“How is your AI used?” “Who is accountable?” “How do you manage risks and data?” “What happens when things go wrong?”

  4. Existing standards are comprehensive, but can be difficult for SMEs to adopt immediately.

Global standards provide the destination, but SMEs need a practical, proportionate and use-case focused starting point.

  5. TIA-Ready provides a practical first step.

A use-case-scoped framework and recognition pathway that helps you manage, govern and demonstrate responsible AI – with confidence.

  • ❓ Who is accountable for the AI?
  • ❓ What data may it access?
  • ❓ How are risks, changes and incidents controlled?
  • ❓ When must a human review, approve or override its output?
  • ❓ What evidence can be shown to customers or assessors?

WHAT IS TIA-READY

A practical first step in industrial AI assurance

TIA-Ready is a use-case-scoped, evidence-based readiness and recognition framework. Instead of requiring a company to transform its entire organisation at once, it starts with a clearly defined AI use case, operational boundary and risk profile.

It brings together relevant principles from established standards, regulatory developments and published governance frameworks, and translates them into a practical pathway for industrial deployment.

Industry-led

Developed by AutomationSG with guidance from an industry Steering Committee.

Use-case scoped

Recognition applies to the approved AI use case, site, operating boundary and conditions.

Evidence based

Controls must be supported by reviewable documents, records, testing and operational evidence.

ISO/IEC 42001 anchored

Designed as a practical starting point that helps organisations progressively prepare for future ISO/IEC 42001 adoption, where appropriate.

WHAT ROLE ARE YOU IN

Choose the path that fits your company

TIA-Ready is built for the whole industrial AI ecosystem — not just factory owners.

🏭
Manufacturer / SME

Using or planning AI in operations, production, engineering, quality or maintenance.

🛠️
System Integrator / Vendor

Designing or deploying AI-enabled industrial solutions for customers.

💻
AI / Technology Provider

Your tools are used within a specific industrial deployment or customer use case.

🤝
Consultants & Assessors

Interested in supporting implementation, independent assessment or training.

WHAT IT HELPS YOU ACHIEVE

Build trust without starting with a massive compliance programme

🎯
Start with one manageable use case

Define exactly what the AI does, who uses it, what data it accesses and what decisions it influences.

🔐
Protect industrial and customer data

Establish appropriate rules for confidential factory, production, quality, personal and customer data.

👤
Clarify human accountability

Assign responsible owners, approval rights, escalation routes and human override duties.

⚙️
Control deployment risk

Document testing, monitoring, change control, incidents, fallback and corrective action.

🤝
Strengthen customer assurance

Provide a structured recognition record that supports customer, procurement and supply-chain discussions.

🗺️
Prepare for what comes next

Develop governance and evidence artefacts that may support future ISO/IEC 42001, customer assurance or regulatory-readiness work.

HOW IT WORKS

A guided pathway from use-case scoping to recognition

From initial scoping through to recognition and ongoing maintenance — timeline depends on the use-case tier, scope, evidence readiness and required controls.

STAGE 1: Managed

Define the AI use case, operational boundary, intended and excluded uses, accountable owners, data involved and initial risk profile.

STAGE 2: Governed

Implement proportionate controls for risk, cybersecurity, data, oversight, testing, monitoring, changes, incidents and training.

STAGE 3: Ready

Complete evidence preparation, independent assessment and AutomationSG recognition review.

POSSIBLE SUPPORT PATHWAYS

Funding support may be available

Depending on the company, activity and prevailing programme criteria, elements such as training, cybersecurity readiness, consultancy or standards preparation may qualify for support under relevant government schemes.

AutomationSG can help companies identify programmes that may be worth exploring. Eligibility, approval and funding levels are determined by the respective programme owners and are not guaranteed as part of TIA-Ready participation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is this compulsory?

No. TIA-Ready is a voluntary, industry-led recognition scheme.

Do I need to be a big company to join?

No. It's built for SMEs first, with a scoped, proportionate entry point based on your use case.

How long does it take?

It depends on the use-case tier, scope, evidence readiness and required controls — a narrow, well-defined use case can move faster than a complex, higher-risk one. You're guided by a supporting consultant throughout.

How much does it cost?

Costs vary by scope. Some activities may be eligible for support under relevant government schemes, subject to each scheme's own eligibility criteria. Speak to an AutomationSG Representative for a tailored estimate.

Is this the same as ISO 42001 certification?

No — it's a practical first step that's anchored to and benchmarked against ISO/IEC 42001, and prepares you well for it.

Does recognition cover my whole company or product?

No. Recognition applies only to the specific use case and scope you register — not to your whole company, and not to a product as a whole.

I'm not a manufacturer — can I still get involved?

Yes. AutomationSG is inviting pilot trial companies, training partners, consultants, auditors/assessors and technical contributors to register interest via the TIA-Ready Readiness Survey.

What happens after I sign up?

An AutomationSG Representative contacts you, helps determine whether your use case is suitable for the TIA-Ready pathway, and maps out the next step.
